Kyle Troup

Age: 31

On Tour Since: 2008

Hometown: Taylorsville, North Carolina

Style: 2 Hands

As the son of long time Profession Bowler, Guppy Troup I was destined to become a championship bowler. I began bowling at the age of two and by age five I was using a 10 pound ball. In order to move the ball down the lanes I used two hands. Two handed bowling was a style that stuck with me. I am a self taught two handed bowler. I bowled in many youth leagues and tournaments breaking youth records in Hickory, NC. I became one of the youngest members of the North Carolina All Stars team; bowling team events across North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia. Though I enjoyed my time as a youth bowler, I was thriving for the next level of competition and went adult at the age of 16. I started bowling scratch tournaments around North Carolina beating bowlers more than twice my age. It was then that I decided to give the PBA a try. I bowled my first PBA regional at the age of 16 and won my first tile at the age of 19 in 2010 at the Fort Jackson Non-champion Regional. I added eight more regional titles along with the honor of being named the PBA Southern Region Player of the Year in 2013 and 2014. The cherry on top was on May 11, 2015 when I won the Wolf Open my first PBA National Title with my entire family in the audience cheering me on. This is the win that I will never forget but, I believe the best is yet to come. I spend a lot of my free time bowling and watching sports whether it be basketball, football, or golf. I would love to learn how to actually play golf at some point. Panther Nation is a great home. You can catch me jamming out to whatever tune is on the radio, and I always have my hair pick by my side to care for the afro.
